State Law Enforcement Division agents are investigating the death of a Georgetown County inmate.
Correctional officers found an inmate unresponsive at the Georgetown County jail about 9:30 p.m., Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Carrie Cuthbertson said.
The inmate was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Cuthbertson said. The man’s identity has not been released.
SLED agents are investigating the death, Cuthbertson said.
