A Johns Island man is in jail after a woman said he sexually assaulted her 13-year-old daughter.
Johnny Tamar Brown, 33, of Hughes Road was charged on Wednesday with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
Deputies met with the girl’s mother at Medical University Hospital the night of June 20, according to the incident report from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. The mother said Brown sexually assaulted the 13-year-old earlier that night while the mother was at work and the mother took the girl to MUSC for treatment when she got home.
Brown surrendered to deputies Wednesday and was taken to the Charleston County jail.
Brown was a registered sex offender at the time of the assault, according to an investigator’s affidavit. He entered the home without permission and forced the girl to have sex, according to the affidavit.
