Man exposes self in Charleston parking garage, woman tells police

Charleston Police Department This man walking through the Cumberland Street parking garage Saturday night is suspected of exposing himself to a woman about 11:30 p.m.

A man pretending to borrow a phone exposed himself to a woman in a downtown Charleston parking garage Saturday night, according to police.

The woman told police a man came up to her about 11:30 p.m. in the garage at 90 Cumberland St. and asked to borrow her phone. When she looked down, she saw that he was masturbating.

She described the man as about 5 feet 4 to 6 inches tall, with dark complexion, short black hair, no facial hair and a Middle Eastern accent. Grainy images of him were captured on the garage’s surveillance cameras.

Anyone with information is asked to call Charleston police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554 1111.
