Rescuers searched the ocean off Sullivan’s Island for several hours Sunday after a boater reported seeing what might have been a body in the water, but they didn’t find anything.
It was never confirmed that a body was in the water.
About 4:30 p.m., a boater reported that a body might be floating 2 to 3 miles offshore from Breech Inlet, Charleston County Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said.
The Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol, Coast Guard and rescue squads from Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island and Charleston County searched the water, but didn’t find anything.
