Charleston police have arrested a jailed North Charleston man on a heroin charge.
Henry Coaxum Jr., 41, of Alabama Drive, who was on probation for possession of heroin, is charged with distribution of heroin and distribution of a controlled substance within close proximity of a school, police spokesman Charles Francis said.
Coaxum had been found with a gram of heroin in his possession during an undercover operation on Orange Grove Road in West Ashley, police said.
Arrest warrants for Coaxum were served at the Al Cannon Detention Center, where he is being held on unrelated charges, Francis said.
