A thunderstorm warning for portions of the tricounty that was issued earlier today has been canceled, but storms are still possible later tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The chance of rain remains at 50 percent through Wednesday night.

A line of storms extending from eight miles north of Jedburg was moving east at 40 mph this afternoon, bearing a threat of high winds. The storm produced a 46 mph wind gust in Walterboro this afternoon, according to the weather service.

A small craft advisory remains in effect until 5 a.m. tomorrow for Charleston. The advisory means that winds or seas are expected to create hazardous navigating conditions to small boats and inexperienced boaters, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in those conditions.
