Patriots Point will give away two tickets each week through July 4 to promote its Fourth of July celebration from the flight deck of the World War II-era aircraft carrier Yorktown.
To enter, participants must simply ‘like’ the museum’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/PatriotsPoint.org) or follow the museum on Twitter (http://twitter.com/Patriots_Point). Fans and those who already follow Patriots Point will be able to sign up on each of the respective pages.
Flight deck tickets (valued at $20 per person and $10 for children 11 and under) will provide guests with special access to the Yorktown starting at 6 p.m., with catered food and beverages available for purchase, as well as live musical performances throughout the evening and a front row seat to one of the biggest fireworks shows in the state. Fireworks will be shot from a barge in the Cooper River.
Last year marked the first time the museum offered this special seating, and tickets sold out in just over three weeks.
“The Fourth of July Blast at Patriots Point has become a Lowcountry tradition. It is, by far, our most anticipated event each year, and we’re proud to welcome 40,000 spectators to celebrate with us at Patriots Point and all around the harbor,” Patriots Point Executive Director Mac Burdette said.
“Due to an overwhelmingly positive response from those who joined us for the flight deck celebration last year, we anticipate this year’s tickets will sell out even sooner,” Burdette added. “We want to give everyone a chance to attend, and we’re excited to host this ticket give-away.”
Winners will be selected every Wednesday (June 19, June 26 and June 3) and awarded two adult admission tickets. Tickets will be available for pickup at the museum’s ticket office on the day of, and throughout the week leading up to, the Fourth of July.
