Two people stabbed in Summerville, police say
Summerville police are investigating varying accounts of how two people ended up with stab wounds following a party in the Cory Woods subdivision on Saturday.
Officers were sent shortly before 11 p.m. to a Woodward Boulevard home concerning a stabbing, an incident report states.
A 33-year-old man who was standing outside the home appeared irate and was shouting, police said. The man’s sleeveless, blue shirt was soaked with blood.
Officers saw a puncture wound on the man’s left shoulder. They asked him who attacked him, and he replied that he didn’t know, the report said.
Several people at the home alerted officers to a second man who also had been stabbed. The 34-year-old man had two puncture wounds on his left side, police said.
Witnesses said a fight broke out between the two wounded men and a third person. Officers located a knife with a broken blade and a wooden handle at the scene, police said.
Paramedics took both men to Trident Medical Center for treatment, according to the report.
The wounded people received non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Several people involved in the stabbing were intoxicated when the incident occurred, Summerville police Lt. Jeff Payton said. Officers still are investigating varying witness accounts to determine the specifics of the fight and how the men were stabbed.
No one had been charged in the incident as of Monday.
