St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center, at the southern end of Seabrook Island, marks its 75th anniversary with a three-day celebration beginning June 22.
Most of the scheduled events are free and open to the public. They include:
June 22: Open house 10 a.m.-5 p.m. with scavenger hunt; history exhibit; art show; on-site food trucks and staffed waterfront activities. The Barrier Island 5K Run/Hike begins at 8:30 a.m. Registration costs $25 and includes a T-shirt.
June 23: Daylong open house; 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist; picnic at noon; summer camp staff regatta at 1 p.m.; invitation-only Seersucker and Sundress Supper at 6 p.m. honoring donors, diocesan officials and special guests.
June 24: Daylong open house; 11 a.m. exhumation of time capsule buried in 1988 on 50th anniversary of camp; 5 p.m. dedication of “Susanna’s House” (student ministry center); 5 p.m. silent auction; 6 p.m. Pelican Gala, a themed party based on a 1938 Evening on the Lawn (children are welcome; special children’s program available).
