Two dance studios shine in competitions

William Green and William Mummert of Elite Dance International Studio in Mount Pleasant competed last month at the Savannah Dance Classic, a large ballroom competition in the Southeast.

Green received four first places in Pro/Am Silver Smooth Dance Single Dance Division and second in Silver Smooth Scholarship Division.

Mummert received three first places in the Pro/Am Bronze Rhythm Single Dance Division.

Professional dancers Maxim Kappitannikov and Natalia Fridmanovich placed first in Open Professional Latin. They are ranked in the Top 20 professional couples in the world.

Anne Goldstein, longtime student of the Fred Astaire Dance Studios of Charleston, recently competed at the Atlanta Open.

Dancing in the Pro/Am divisions, Goldstein and instructor Andrey Gergel took first and second places in the Open Bronze Smooth & Rhythm Single Dance divisions.

She also was a finalist in the Silver Smooth & Rhythm Championships, the Senior Smooth & Rhythm Scholarships and in the Global Pro/Am Smooth & Rhythm Scholarships.
