Coroner’s Office: No foul play suspected in death of 28-year-old man found Tuesday in Morris Street apartment
Authorities do not suspect foul play in the death of a young man found in his apartment in downtown Charleston on Tuesday afternoon.
William G. Roberts, 28, died from a gunshot wound, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kelly Kraus said. Investigators are still working to determine the manner of death, but they do not suspect foul play at this time, she said.
A Charleston police report states that the man was found dead in an upstairs apartment at 24 Morris St. around 3 p.m. Officers were sent to check on the man because an acquaintance had not seen him in several days, police said.
Unable to get an answer at the door, an officer climbed through an unsecured window and found the man lying face-down on the kitchen floor, police said.
