South Carolina now offers a new license plate for U.S. Navy chief petty officers.
The plate is available for active duty and former chief petty officers. It costs $60 plus the registration fee. Applicants must present a letter of eligibility from Patriots Point Foundation.
Proceeds will be distributed to the foundation and used to preserve ships and displays at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Mount Pleasant.
The plate is available by mail only. For ordering information, go to tinyurl.com/Chiefplate or to receive an application package with the two required forms, email JJacobs@Patriotspointfoundation.org with the subject “SC Chief’s Plate.”
