Investigators are tracking down possible leads after a man was shot several times inside a mobile home in Colleton County this afternoon.
Deputies detained a person of interest but have not made an arrest in the case, Chief Deputy Ted Stanfield said, correcting an earlier report that an arrest had been made.
Here’s what happened, according to Stanfield.
About 4:15 p.m., a dispatcher got a call that about a shooting at 98 Oswald Court, which is in the county near Walterboro. When deputies arrived, a man told them that somebody came to his front door and shot him twice in the stomach and once in the leg.
The resident told deputies the man who shot him left in a older-model Burgundy Lincoln. The man who was shot was conscious and alert when a Colleton County Fire and Rescue crew took him from the scene.
