A third body linked to the man suspected of killing a Charleston County convenience store clerk Thursday has been found.
The body of Sadie Brown, 77, of New Zion was found in a Clarendon County forest this afternoon, Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett announced at a 6 p.m. news conference. WIS-TV of Columbia posted the news on its website.
Brown was reported missing Thursday. She lived near Jeffrey N. Eaddy, 31, who is suspected of killing her.
Investigators say Eaddy took off in Brown’s blue Ford Focus toward Florida. He is accused of killing two more women Thursday. Eaddy is also charged with the murder of Maybell White, 65, at a recycling business in Clarendon County.
Investigators also say Eaddy shot and killed Crystal Johnson, 37, at the D&V Convenience store in Adams Run, took money from the cash register and continued down U.S. Highway 17 toward Florida. Surveillance cameras at the store captured him on video before he left.
Eaddy was arrested Saturday in Mexico Beach, Fla., and returned to Clarendon County. Ballistic tests showed White and Johnson were shot with the same gun, Garrett told reporters.
