The man suspected of killing at least two people including an Adams Run convenience store clerk has been arrested in Florida.
Jeffrey N. Eaddy, 30, is armed and dangerous, according to Clarendon County Sheriff Randy Garrett.Eaddy is black, 6 feet, 1 inch tall, 190 pounds, with short cropped hair, a goatee and brown eyes, Charleston County Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said. He was last known to be driving a blue Ford Focus with license plate tag number GYF 642, Brady said. He may have left the Lowcountry and now be in the Macon, Ga., area.Anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts can call 911.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Jeffrey Eaddy today, according to officials with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
Information was developed that Eaddy was in Bay County and a report was made early today that he was seen at Highway 98 and 23rd Street, officials said. They found him in Mexico Beach, where he was arrested.
Clarendon County Sheriff’s officials plan a press conference tonight at 10 regarding Eaddy, according to Columbia-based television station, WLTX.
On Thursday afternoon Eaddy reportedly shot and killed 37-year-old Crystal Johnson, a part-time clerk at the D&V Convenience Store on Savannah Highway, several miles south of Ravenel, according to investigators.
He was caught on surveillance camera and later identified, police said. Following Johnson’s shooting death, Eaddy went on the run, according to authorities. He currently remains at large.
Eaddy is also accused of killing Maybell White, 65, at a recycling business in Clarendon County. On Thursday, White’s daughter found her body after not being able to reacher her mother by phone.
Deputies have also been looking for Sadie Brown, 77, of New Zion, who was reported missing Thursday by her caregiver. She lives near the recycling center. Authorities want to talk to Eaddy about her.
