Search for two missing boaters near Moncks Corner continues

Rescue workers were still looking for two missing boaters late Sunday afternoon.

One of the missing persons is 57-year-old Robert Andrews, who jumped out of a moving boat around 6 p.m. Saturday, according to Berkeley County Rescue Chief Bill Salisbury.

The other missing person was thrown into the water when two boats collided around 8 p.m. Saturday. Family members say he is Robbie Mullinax, 27. Three other people in the boat got out of the water, although Danyelle Mullinax was taken to Trident Hospital with serious injuries, according to the family.

Both boats started in from the Tail Race Canal in Moncks Corner, but the incidents occurred in the Cooper River. Rescue workers are searching the river in the Pimlico Community.

Rescue workers called off the search at dark Saturday and resumed this morning.
