Renting a place in a rural setting can be appealing to tenants who want a little space between themselves and neighbors.
But shoppers need to take note. If the home is too far out, there’s the potential drawback of long trips to town. Too close to an urban area, and there can be traffic.
A residence for lease within the Francis Marion Forest in Berkeley County tries to strike a balance, combining aspects of country living with proximity to East Cooper.
The two-bedroom, one-bath dwelling is off S.C. Highway 41 about a mile north of the fixed span bridge over the Wando River, says Shannon Spratt, who is handling the lease.
Built in 2007, the house in the Wando section of Berkeley County is for rent for $975 a month with a year’s lease, she says. It is a few minutes from Mount Pleasant via Highway 41 heading south and is about 10 miles from Interstate 526 by way of Clements Ferry Road.
The dwelling is 800 square feet, but, “It looks larger than that,” Spratt says. Considering its interior size, the property would be suited to a single person or couple although it could work for a small family.
The size of the lot is a perk. It is 1.4 acres, Spratt says, with much of the property a well-kept lawn. Beyond the grass are stands of trees.
Along with the bathroom and two sleeping areas, the residence showcases a living room, laundry and kitchen. Maple hardwood floors are found throughout most of the house, with ceramic tile in the kitchen and bathroom.
The kitchen consists of a self-cleaning oven, refrigerator, stove and Silestone-brand quartz countertops. Connecting to the kitchen is the open living quarters.
Another perk is a one-and-a-half car garage, Spratt says. Covering the garage floor is scratch-resistant epoxy.
No pets are permitted, and there’s no smoking, the landlord says. For more information, contact Spratt at 843-478-4188.
