If the organizers of Spoleto Festival USA and Piccolo Spoleto could control the weather, this would be the kind of weather they would pick.
And it looks to be the kind of weather we’ll have throughout this holiday weekend and for early next week.
Charleston’s Marion Park was teeming with festival goers this morning under a bright, clear sky. Not only was it a few degrees cooler than normal for late May, there was almost no humidity in the air.
For the rest of today, highs are expected to be in the upper 70s, with north winds 10 to 15 mph.
Tonight will be mostly clear, with lows in the lower 50s, except in the upper 50s near the coast. Winds will be southwest, 5 to 10 mph.
Sunday should be mostly sunny, with highs around 80 and west winds around 5 mph. Winds will become south in the afternoon. Sunday night should be partly cloudy, with lows in the lower 60s and south winds 5 to 10 mph.
For Monday, Memorial day, expect more of the same. It will be oartly sunny with highs in the mid 80s, except around 80 near the coast. There should be south winds 10 to 15 mph.
