Two-time defending Class AA state champion Bishop England and three teams expected to be ranked in the top 10 in Class AAAA will play in the marquee games of the 43nd annual Sertoma Football Classic.

This year’s jamboree features 28 teams and is Aug. 22-23 at The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium. The gates will open at 5 p.m. with action beginning at 5:45 p.m. both nights. The jamboree is being sponsored by CT Lowndes & Co.

One of the highlights of the first day includes a Hanahan vs. Wando showdown. The Warriors had their best regular season ever last fall, finishing with a 10-1 record. The teams will play two quarters.

The second night features two big showdowns.

Bishop England will play Summerville while Berkeley battles Goose Creek.
