The building that once housed Moe's Downtown Tavern, which closed in April at 5 Cumberland St. after more than five years, has been sold.
Grafton Inns Charleston LLC bought the 3,000-square-foot building from Trailer Park Hustlers for $1.25 million, according to Mark Erickson of Cushman & Wakefield/Thalhimer real estate firm.
The new owners plan to introduce a new restaurant concept over the next few months. The original Moe's Crosstown Tavern on Rutledge Avenue remains open.
Sweet CeCe's Frozen Yogurt and Treats at 99 S. Market St. has a cool offer for children to entice them to read this summer. Just go to any branch of Charleston County Library and ask the librarian for a Sweet CeCe's bookmark. Then set your child's summer reading goals, and the librarian will authorize one free cup of Sweet CeCe's yogurt. The more goals met, the more free cups.
Blockbuster is closing another video store in the Charleston area. The final day for the video rental shop at 862 Folly Road on James Island is June 14. The last three remaining stores in the Charleston area in Summerville, Goose Creek and Moncks Corner will remain open, according to a store employee.
Bob Ellis shoes at 332 King St. will hold a trunk show Friday and Saturday by Stubbs and Wooten from its fall collection.
The Coastal Cupboard's “Semi-Annual Charity Knife Sharpening Event” to benefit Feed the Need is set for May 31-June 2. For $1 per knife, patrons can get their blades sharpened and help soup kitchens and shelters throughout the Charleston area.
The event will include a charity raffle of cooking classes, cutlery sets and a grand prize of a dinner for four at the Charleston Grill with wine pairings, a $700 value.

Feeding the need
Ted's Butcherblock in downtwn Charleston is teaming up with Mount Pleasant's Firehouse Casual Living to raffle off a Big Green Egg to benefit Feed the Need, a local nonprofit to help feed the hungry. Tickets are available at Ted's Butcherblock at 334 East Bay St. for $5 each (or 5 for $20) through June 22, when a winner will be drawn at Ted's annual Backyard BBQ Bash.
The Big Egg, a high-end smoker and grill, is used exclusively for the ribs, barbecue pork and smoked salmon on the menu at Ted's Butcherblock and other shop events.
That Summer Book Sale returns June 14-16 at Charleston County Library's Main Branch, 68 Calhoun St. in downtown Charleston. Sponsored by Charleston Friends of the Library, the event raises money for library services and equipment.
Books, DVDs and CDs will be available, starting at $1 for paperbacks and $3 for hardbacks. The event will run 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. June 14-15 and 2 p.m.-4 p.m. June 16. Admission is free with special book pricing on Sunday.
