Jarrett Swan, who just finished his sophomore season at Charleston Southern, birdied the second hole of a sudden-death playoff today to edge Matt Laydon and win the 63rd annual Charleston City Amateur golf tournament Sunday at Municipal Golf Course.
Swan led the tournament from start to finish and had a three-stroke lead over Laydon heading into the final round. Laydon birdied four holes on the back nine to catch Swan and force the playoff after both golfers finished regulation tied at 8-under-par 208.
