BEECH ISLAND — Georgia authorities are holding two homicide suspects after a South Carolina barber was fatally shot during an attempted robbery at his business.
Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton said Sunday that 32-year-old Zann Worrell Jr. of North Augusta, S.C., died from multiple gunshot wounds. Carlton says Worrell died Saturday at Georgia Regents Medical Center.
Carlton says Worrell was shot by two gunmen trying to rob the Island Cuts Barber Shop in Beech Island where Worrell worked.
Aiken County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Feemster says an alert witness followed a white Honda leaving the scene into Georgia and reported their license plate information.
Being held in Augusta pending extradition to South Carolina are 21-year-old Demarcus LiQuan Booker and 18-year-old Raphael Wooden.
