STARKVILLE, MISS. — After South Carolina built a 4-1 lead, Mississippi State struck with four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, including a two-out, bases- loaded walk to Brett Pirtle that scored Nick Ammirati as the Bulldogs (39-15, 15-13 SEC) defeated the Gamecocks (38-15, 16-11).

Brison Celek led USC’s offense, going 2 for 3 with a run scored, while Joey Pankake drove in a pair of runs.
