A six percent reduction in taxes on owner-occupied homes is proposed in the new Charleston County budget.
The budget year is July 1 to June 30.
On a $100,000 home, the tax cut amounts to $4.80, the county said Friday.
County Council has to approve the change before it takes effect. The budget will be presented to Council at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
