The Citadel Women’s Club is holding its huge garage sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in Deas Hall, adjacent to McAlister Field House. A $1 donation is suggested for admission.
As one of the largest garage sales in the Lowcountry, bargain shoppers can find deals on household items, small appliances, cadet linens and towels, footlockers, clothing, books, office supplies, school supplies and bicycles.
Credit cards will be accepted for sales totaling more than $10.
Proceeds from the sale go to the John S. Carter Scholarship Fund, providing financial aid to cadets. In the last 10 years more than $200,000 has been raised and awarded by the Women’s Club, including $22,000 in scholarship assistance awarded last year to six cadets.
The Women’s Club is an organization that works to improve campus life for cadets, faculty, staff and families at The Citadel and adopts projects to better the community.
