A new candy and accessories store is opening Friday in downtown Charleston. Deerfield Beach, Fla.-based IT'SUGAR is setting up shop at 50 N. Market St. The 2,000-square-foot shop is in the former Aroma space beside the Moon Pie Store.

Stewart Fine Art recently opened at 12 State St. in downtown Charleston. The 1,700-square-foot gallery is the product of Sue Stewart.
A new restaurant is coming to Mount Pleasant by fall. East Coast Wings & Grill will open in a 3,900-square-foot shop in the Bi-Lo-anchored Sweetgrass Corner Shopping Center at U.S. Highway 17 and the Isle of Palms connector, according to John Orr and Elyse Chubb of the commercial real estate firm Colliers International.
It will be the Winston-Salem-based company's first South Carolina location.
The new 6,000-square-foot Burris Liquor Store will begin construction in June or July at 418 Meeting St. after Charleston's Board of Architectural Review approved plans last week for the two-story business.
The shop is moving across the street to make way for a proposed 165-room hotel at Meeting and Reid streets. Burris has been in its current spot at 415 Meeting for 45 years.
It's owned by Clyde Bur- ris.
Jo-Ann's Fabrics and Crafts store will open a second store in the Charleston area this week.
The Summerville shop will be ready for business Friday near Lowe's on U.S. Highway 17A.
The fabric retailer opens just two months after the new Jo-Ann's at Ashley Crossing Shopping Center in West Ashley built a new store beside the new Kohl's.

A restaurant is being proposed for 698 King St. in downtown Charleston where a former auto body shop once operated. A sign on the building says Gail's Seafood has applied for a license to serve alcohol.
The property owner's representative, the Kevan Hoertroerfer architectural firm, is asking the city for a variance to allow 1,115 square feet of inside space without the required eight off-street parking spaces.
Kingston Cigar Shop will cut the ribbon for the grand reopening of its store at 5 p.m. Thursday at 1525 Old Trolley Road in Summerville. Refreshments will be served until 8 p.m.
