Two men shot during an apparent home invasion at a house in Ladson late Friday remain hospitalized and their assailants remain at large, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
About 11:45 p.m., deputies arrived at a house on Kirkwall Drive in the Buckshire subdivision off Miles Jamison Road after reports of gunshots being fired, the Sheriff’s Office said in an incident report.
Deputies found Dennis Earl Lyons Jr., 28, of Ladson, with a gunshot wound to his left side. The homeowner, whose name was not released, also was shot.
Both men were taken to Medical University Hospital, where they remained Saturday night. Officials did not release their conditions.
Lyons’ girlfriend, Chantel Nyette Branch, 26, of Goose Creek, who described herself as an acquaintance of the homeowner, told deputies she and her boyfriend were visiting the homeowner and they were discussing a clothing business when two men forced their way into the house through the garage door.
Branch said gunshots were exchanged between the homeowner and the two who broke in,while she lay on the floor and begged them not to shoot her because she has a baby.
The report said the two men who had broken into the home fled before deputies arrived. It was not known if they had suffered any injuries. According to the report, their identities are unknown.
