A capsized vessel prompted a 911 call this afternoon from a motorist passing over the Arthur Ravenel Bridge.
But it was just a normal sailing exercise, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
The situation unfolded in Charleston Harbor about 3:30 p.m. Someone driving over the bridge saw the boat upside-down and called the authorities, a Coast Guard dispatcher said.
Police cars parked on the bridge. A Coast Guard boat was sent to the scene.
But when the authorities arrived, they found a College of Charleston sailboat that was meant to capsize, then promptly right itself, the Coast Guard said.
No one was hurt, the Coast Guard said, and the sailors went about their way on this warm afternoon.
