A fresh NCAA Ratings Percentage Index order shows South Carolina has work to do to earn a national seed that goes to the top eight teams in the NCAA Tournament. The Gamecocks fell from No. 8 to No. 11 in the RPI.

Clemson has scratched its way into NCAA Regional host status, but with little room for error. The Tigers moved up to No. 14 from No. 16.

South Carolina went 0-2 over the weekend in a home series against Vanderbilt, but the Commodores are No. 2 in the RPI. The Gamecocks have two SEC regular season series left, this week against Georgia and next week at Mississippi State.

Clemson went 2-1 in its home series with Maryland, which is a surprisingly strong No. 21. The Tigers play host to Georgia Southern this weekend in a non-conference series against.

The College of Charleston and The Citadel almost certainly cannot get into the NCAA Tournament as an at-large entry. The Cougars (No. 69) and The Citadel (No. 77 down from No. 52 last week) meet in a Southern Conference series this weekend at Riley Park.

The Cougars play host to Georgia tonight in Mount Pleasant.
