A Berkeley County man was killed when his Jeep went off the road and flipped over early Saturday morning.
Javen Casselman Jr., 40, of Jamestown was killed about 2 a.m. Saturday, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury. Casselman was driving south on S.C. Highway 45 about two miles east of Jamestown when he ran off the right side of the road, hit a ditch, overturned several times and was ejected, Salisbury said. Casselman was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was driving a 1996 Jeep without a seat belt, and nobody else was in the vehicle, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Casselman was a 1991 graduate of Macedonia High School, according to his obituary. He was a mechanic at General Dynamic Industries. He leaves behind a wife and a son. McKenzie Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
