HILTON HEAD ISLAND — Authorities have charged a Hilton Head Island man with robbing two banks in two days after allegedly warning tellers he had a bomb.

The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports http://bit.ly/120Bak6 that 51-year-old Edward Boyd has been charged with strong-arm robbery and threatening to use an explosive device.

Authorities say he was arrested Thursday shortly after a robbery at a Bank of America branch on Hilton Head. Police say he is also charged with robbing the Bank of America branch in Bluffton the previous day.

Authorities would not say how much cash was taken.

It was not immediately clear if Boyd has an attorney.
