COLUMBIA — Some South Carolina mothers are holding rallies at the offices of the state’s two U.S. senators to voice their concerns over recent votes on gun control legislation.

Members of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America are holding rallies on Thursday at the Greenville and Columbia offices of U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott.

Organizers say they are starting the day at the senators’ offices in Greenville before visiting Columbia in the afternoon. Some member moms are planning to bring their children to the events, which they’ve labeled as “Stroller Jams.”

Group leader Erin Dando says the moms are disappointed that the Republican senators voted against a measure that would have required criminal and mental health background checks for people buying guns online or at gun shows.
