Sometimes lost by tenants when focusing on a rental home’s price, convenience and location is absorbing the feel of the place.
Indeed, a residence that’s laid-back and close to amenities is a tempting choice. So if all the practical criteria pans out, at least one such easy-going house in an upscale Mount Pleasant neighborhood might be worth a look.
The property, at 1472 Cypress Pointe Drive in Dunes West, is for lease for $2,500 a month.
“This is a very relaxed one-level living home,” says Susan K. Bryant, a Realtor with AgentOwned Realty who is handling the rental and also owns the house.
The furnished 1,957-square-foot residence showcases an open floor plan, she says. Highlights are a screened-in porch, two-car garage with workshop and shelves for extra storage, formal dining room and private study.
There are a number of “striking architectural details,” she says. They include high ceilings, hardwood floors, arched passageways, wainscoting, alcoves, ceramic tile, surround sound and French doors to the study. The master suite sports a large master bathroom with whirlpool tub and separate shower. Guest bedrooms are clustered on the opposite end of the residence.
Exterior features are an irrigation system, backflow preventer and security system.
She says the home’s location is “exceptionally quiet,” citing a private wooded view from the screened-in porch overlooking the backyard.
According to Bryant, the 14-year-old home would be ideal “for anyone wanting to rent a furnished home for a year or longer to try out the area.” A renter would be able to join The Club at Dunes West, which offers golf, tennis, swimming, a gym, boat ramp and children’s playground. They can visit area beaches and downtown Charleston.
Nearby attractions are grocery stores, day care, Mount Pleasant recreation center, doctor’s offices and Roper Hospital.
A few upgrades are in the works, Bryant says, including new ceramic tile floor, paint, accent drop lighting, under counter lights and new tile back splash in the master bathroom.
Bryant says 1472 Cypress Pointe Drive is among her handful of personal furnished homes, “and I have others available for short or long term accommodations.”
The house is in a part of Dunes West that’s not gated. Heading north, get on U.S. Highway 17 through Mount Pleasant. Make a left at S.C. Highway 41 and go about four miles to Dunes West Boulevard. Turn right and proceed about a mile. Take a right on Cypress Pointe Drive. Ahead is 1472 Cypress Pointe Drive.
