• Trident Technical College’s Department of Automotive Technology will host the 20th annual Spring Spin-Off Car Show 10 a.m.-3 p.m. behind Building 800 on the college’s main campus, 7000 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. The event is free for spectators and open to the community. Along with the car show, there will be food and music. Trophy awards will be presented at the end of the event. To register a vehicle in the show, contact Kathryn Kalameja at 843-574-6115. Registration is $25. On-site registration will be held 10-11:30 a.m. Entries will be capped at the first 250 cars. There is no rain date. Proceeds of the car, truck and motorcycle show benefit the W. Athell Yon Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to Trident Technical College students pursuing careers in automotive technology. The college offers an Automotive Technology associate degree that prepares students to become technicians, supervisors and managers. Certificates focus on specific automotive areas, including transmission, brakes and alignment, and engine performance and repair. • Bessinger’s Bar-B-Q will host its Open Car Truck & Motorcycle Show 6-9 p.m. at the restaurant, 1602 Savannah Highway. Registration is $5. There are three trophies per class. Categories include cars for years 1942 and earlier, ’43-’59, ’60-’71 and ’72-2013; street rods; trucks; and motorcycles. Music is by The Cruise-O-Matics. The show is the first Wednesday of the month. • Lowcountry Mopars will sponsor the 21st annual Lowcountry Shine and Swapp 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Coastal Carolina Flea Market in Ladson. Anything on wheels is welcome. The show is free; donations will be accepted. The show will include top 10 trophies, swap meet and car corral. Bring your interesting automobilia to display or sell. • Community Angels Fund Inc. is holding the fourth annual SpringFling Car & Bike Show in Summerton. The event, featuring Chaos the Band, is presented by The American Pontoon Co. Pre-registration is $15. Registration, which is $20, is 10 a.m. to noon the day of the show. The show is noon to 4 p.m. at John C. Land III boating and sports fishing facility at Log Jam Landing. The new location is on Log Jam Road just outside of the Cuddo Unit and is accessible via lake or land. New this year are golf car and rat rod classes. There will be food, refreshments and vendors.
