CLEMSON — Garrett Boulware drove in four runs and five Clemson pitchers held Western Carolina in check during a 12-1 win Wednesday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
The No. 25 Tigers (28-13) broke open a 1-0 game with four runs in the third inning and four more in the fourth. Clemson tacked on three more runs in the sixth to finish off the Catamounts (27-17).
Bouleware finished 3 for 4, while Tyler Slaton, Steven Duggar, Shane Kennedy, Jon McGibbon and Mike Triller each had two hits for the Tigers.
Zack Erwin (3-0) went five innings to get the win, allowing one run on four hits while striking out four and walking one. Brody Koerner, Joseph Moorefield, Clay Bates and Jackson Campana combined for four scoreless innings in relief.
