Cody Scoggins of Boy Scout Troop 759 is the latest Eagle Scout from Summerville.
His achievement recently was celebrated during a Court of Honor at Boone Hill United Methodist Church, home of Troop 759, which has been providing scouting programs for more than 55 years.
Scoggins was recognized for his efforts in Scouting, 39 merit badges, work as a senior patrol leader and outstanding work in the community.
Scoggins, 18, is a senior at Summerville High School.
He has been involved in Scouting since he joined the Cub Scouts in the first grade. He learned a variety of skills, performed several hours of community service, earned many badges, attended Scout camps and attained all of the ranks of Scouting.
For his service project, he organized and built benches, did an area beautification, provided a painted mural, and donated money and dog toy boxes for the local Summerville Frances R. Willis SPCA.
