A Johns Island man was arrested Wednesday after his estranged wife said he threw a rock threw the bedroom window of the house where she was staying last week.
Richard Shaun Gainey, 29, of Back Pen Road on Johns Island is being held in the Charleston County jail on charges of criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and first-degree attempted burglary.
Charleston County sheriff’s deputies were called to the house where his wife was staying with her mother around 3:40 a.m. Saturday. She said she and Gainey have been separated several months. She told deputies Gainey called her on the phone more than a dozen times April 12 and knocked on her bedroom window after midnight Saturday. She told him to go away and a 20-pound rock came through her bedroom window, according to the report. She said she feared Gainey was trying to get into the house to hurt her and her son.
