Tonight’s City of Charleston Planning Commission meeting where a proposal to re-zone the land around the Sergeant Jasper apartments would face its first consideration, has been postponed.
City officials said today they expected there would not be enough members to have a quorum.
All the items on the agenda have been be moved to the May 15 meeting.
The Beach Co. is seeking a re-zoning that would allow the company to build several four and six-story apartment buildings, along with some businesses, across about an 11-acre spread of land west of Colonial Lake.
If the re-zoning is approved, the 14-story Sergeant Jasper high-rise could be demolished in the next two years.
