CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston is celebrating Earth Day as well as its efforts to help the environment.
Tuesday’s observance also marks 20 years of the university’s sustainability and recycling program.
More than 55 exhibitors gather on the MUSC horseshoe with displays and information about the Earth’s environment and threats to it.
The university’s recycling program serves over 11,000 people, including students, faculty, staff, patients and others in the MUSC complex of 93 buildings.
