Goose Creek police release image of man accused of forgery

A forgery suspect was captured on surveillance video at a Walmart store in Goose Creek on April 2. Police officers are still searching for the man.

Goose Creek police officers asked for help Wednesday identifying a man who they said used a forged check to make a large purchase at a Walmart store last week.

A Summerville man contacted Goose Creek police last Thursday to report that someone forged one of his checks to make a $294.45 purchase from a Walmart.

The man immediately flipped through his checkbook when he became aware of the suspect purchase. The numbered check that was supposedly used at the Walmart was actually still in his possession, he told police.

Investigators are searching for a man captured on surveillance video at the store about 9:50 p.m. April 2. Anyone with information about the man can call the Goose Creek Police Department at 863-5200.
