Charleston police on today arrested a man accused of burglarizing a room at Charleston Place Hotel last year.
John C. Coakley, 35 of Ross Street in North Charleston, is charged with first-degree burglary in connection with the incident, police spokesman Charles Francis said.
On January 27 of last year, someone entered a room at the hotel, at 205 Meeting Street, and stole an iPad and jewelry, Francis said. The jewelry has since been recovered, he said.
Coakley is being held at the Charleston County jail, Francis said. The investigation is ongoing, he said.
