Deputies release image of man accused of stealing $24,000 worth of pills from Walgreens
Charleston County sheriff’s deputies released an image of a bandaged man accused of stealing $24,000 worth of pills from a Walgreens pharmacy on Folly Road.
A man entered the business, at 907 Folly Road, shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday and demanded Oxycontin from the store’s pharmacy, Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said. The man had bandages over his nose and chin and had his right arm in a sling, Brady said.
The man implied that he had a weapon hidden in his sling, but said that he didn’t want to use it, according to deputies. He fled the store with 800 pills worth about $24,000, according to an incident report.
Witnesses described the suspect as a white man between 35 and 40, 6 feet tall and weighing 240 pounds. He wore brown shorts, an orange shirt and a brown ball cap, Brady said.
