Charleston's charmers will grace the small screen on Bravo TV this year. The network announced this week that a new reality show, “Southern Charm,” will feature the high life in the Holy City.

“Southern Charm” will open the gates of plantation homes for a “real-life look at how modern-day Southern aristocracy lives,” according to the network's website.

The Bravo show will follow a group of the city's “most charismatic gentlemen and their Southern belle equals,” according to the network site.

Former state Treasurer Thomas Ravenel told WCSC-TV that he will be on the show.

Ravenel, once a shining star among state Republicans and now a Charleston businessman, served 10 months in federal prison in 2008 for a drug conviction.

He had pleaded guilty to conspiracy with intent to distribute cocaine.

The Bravo show will be produced by Haymaker Productions.

A call to the network to request further details about the show was not returned Thursday.

Ravenel told The Post and Courier through a Facebook message that he is contractually obligated not to talk to media yet.
