A Hanahan man was arrested Wednesday after undercover detectives said they traced images of child pornography to his computer.

Thomas A. Peterson, 49, is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of minor, according to the S.C. attorney general’s office.

A Berkeley County undercover detective downloaded files of child pornography that came from Peterson’s computer on Feb. 25, according the prosecutors. Agents executed a search warrant March 26 and seized three computers and electronic devices.

Peterson was arrested Wednesday and released on $75,000 bail. He was ordered to have no contact with children under 17, to stay away from any device that has access to the Internet and to stay at least a half mile away from any place where children congregate.

The attorney general’s office will prosecute the case.
