Former Stratford High School star Austin Savage is one of three players with local ties to sign with the Charleston Battery for the upcoming USL Pro season.
Savage, midfielder Zach Prince and defender Shawn Ferguson signed with the club on Wednesday. The Battery opens its regular season April 13 on the road against the Richmond Kickers.
Prince, who played at the College of Charleston, has played 64 games for the Battery with two goals and two assists. Ferguson, a rookie, played four years at the College of Charleston.
