Charleston County Council will discuss a countywide ban on texting while driving at Thursday’s Finance Committee meeting.
Councilman Joe Qualey is pushing the discussion.
State Rep. Wendell Gilliard has proposed a statewide ban, which the Legislature will consider this year. And the city of Beaufort has approved a ban.
The committee will meet at 5 p.m. Thursday on the second floor of the Lonnie Hamilton, III Public Services Building at 4045 Bridge View Drive in North Charleston.
