Rick Jerue will step down as chairman of the BB&T Charleston Wine + Food Festival to serve as interim director on April 15.
Current director Angel Postell announced last month she will step down at the end of April.
“With Angel’s departure, the board felt that it made sense to have an interim director in place to assist the staff in moving the festival forward and making the decisions necessary to have a successful 2014 event,” Jerue said. “It was also important to have an interim director who had no interest in being the permanent director. I look forward to working with the staff until that permanent director is selected.”
Johnny Wallace, the festival’s vice chairman, will step into the role of chairman while Jerue serves as interim executive director. These changes will remain in place until the festival’s search committee, chaired by Wallace, finds a new full-time executive director later this year.
