The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office today reminded teens and their parents that with prom season comes underage alcohol and drug abuse.
Traffic Enforcement units and other local and state agencies will crack down on traffic violations to ensure the safety of prom-goers and others on the road, Sheriff’s Maj. John Garrison said.
Deputies will target drivers who violate traffic laws including driving under the influence, failure to yield to the right of way and disregarding traffic signals.
The Sheriff’s Office hopes to prevent a night of celebration from turning into a tragedy, Garrison said.
