Another new hotel planned for downtown Charleston

Another new hotel is planned for downtown Charleston.

Tara Investments, the group that owns the new 120-room Holiday Inn Charleston Historic Downtown at 425 Meeting St., plans to build a 165-room, five-story unnamed hotel at 415 Meeting St. where Burris Liquors is now located, according to plans submitted to the city of Charleston.

Burris Liquors plans to move to the east side of Meeting Street and build a two-story, 6,000-square-foot store on the corner of Reid and Meeting streets, the plans show.

The city’s Board of Architectural Review will take up the new hotel plans as well as those for Burris Liquors’ new construction at 4:30 p.m. April 10 at 75 Calhoun St.
