Walterboro police are investigating after a vehicle was peppered with bullets in a shooting on Friday.
Shar-ron Maurice Jenkins, 28, was charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm within city limits, malicious damage to a vehicle, unlawful carrying of a pistol, possession of a firearm in commission of a violent felony and pointing a firearm, police said. He was held at the Colleton County jail.
Police responded to Gruber and Lewis streets about 8:30 a.m. concerning shots fired, an incident report states.
A 21-year-old Walterboro man told police he was headed south on Lewis Street in a light blue 2000 Ford Crown Victoria when Jenkins drove by and fired at him from within a blue Cadillac.
Officers found seven 9mm shell casings in the road and the Crown Victoria was struck several times, according to the report.
Jenkins turned himself in to officials at City Hall following the shooting, police said.
